Q. What is Microsoft Office 365?
A. Microsoft Office 365 (MS Office 365) is a hosted version of Microsoft's Server products, such as the Exchange Server, delivered and accessed over the Internet. It provides email and personal information management capabilities such as calendaring, contact lists and task lists. It can be accessed using Outlook and other email clients on the desktop, Outlook Web App in Web browsers and via certain mobile devices.
NOTE: Although Microsoft Office 365 is a hosted version of Microsoft's Server products, Cal Poly Pomona's Appropriate Use Policy still applies to all users.
Q. What is the advantage of using Microsoft Office 365?
A. With Microsoft Office 365, you will have 25 GB of storage and the ability to access, view and edit your online documents from home, the classroom, the library or virtually any PC or Mac that is connected to the Internet.
Q. What if I don’t want to use Microsoft Office 365?
A. You can forward your Cal Poly Pomona email address to any of your existing personal email addresses, such as Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, etc. To forward your Cal Poly Pomona email to a different email address, go to eHelp's Forwarding-Email instructions.
Q. What happens to my SkyDrive in MS Outlook Live?
Q. As a faculty/staff member, am I able to sign up for a Microsoft Office 365 account?
A. Sorry, this option is not available to faculty or staff. It is recommended that your email continue to be delivered to Exchange.
Q. Can I use the same password for MS Office 365 as I use for BroncoDirect?
A. No, it is not recommended that you use your BroncoPassword for services that are hosted off-campus for security reasons. Additionally, the password complexity rules for MS Office 365 passwords differ from the BroncoPassword complexity rules. It is probable that your current BroncoPassword does not meet the MS Office 365 password complexity rules.
Q. What happens to my Microsoft Office 365 Account once I leave Cal Poly Pomona?
A. Your Microsoft Office 365 email account will be disabled. However, when you graduate, you will be eligible for a lifelong Cal Poly Pomona email address, but it will not be your current Cal Poly Pomona email address. You will be able to request your lifelong Cal Poly Pomona email address through Alumni Affairs approximately six weeks after you graduate.

Q. I currently access my email via Microsoft Outlook using POP3 settings. Do I need to change my POP3 settings to access my account via MS Office 365?

Q. Will the MS Office 365 application affect my smart phone settings?
